Learn More About Kendal-Crosslands

Kendal~Crosslands Communities is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The community includes two independent retirement living communities, Kendal at Longwood and Crosslands for those ages 65 and older. Founded on Quaker values in 1973, we offer Independent Living cottages and apartments, Personal Care – formerly known as assisted living, and Skilled Nursing all nestled on over 500 acres of rolling countryside in the heart of the Brandywine Valley, near Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE. For almost 50 years, we have strived to ensure that retirement is an opportunity to grow and explore with others who see this as a time to pursue new and lifelong interests.

Transforming the Experience of Aging

Kendal~Crosslands Communities believes that growing older can bring new opportunities for growth and development.

Residents embrace a fully dimensional life, both on campus and in the local community. Many of our residents volunteer with local organizations and have even helped start a local charter school for the arts!

With more than 100 resident interest groups at both Kendal at Longwood and Crosslands — encompassing art, culture, education, travel, lectures, exercise, spiritual programs and more — you’ll find it’s easy to add life to your years.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

Kendal-Crosslands Communities is committed to welcoming diversity and supporting a spirit of inclusion.

Our vision emerges from the Quaker belief that there is a divine spark in each person. We are dedicated to fostering a living and working space that is welcoming to all cultures, backgrounds, and differences- an environment that promotes mutual respect, acceptance, cooperation and teamwork, and honors the gifts that each person brings.
