You’ve decided that you’re going to move to Kendal-Crosslands. You’ve toured the campus, perhaps stayed overnight as a guest, had meals in the dining room, and have met all of the staff members in the sales office. You’re ready to wake up every day to the many services and amenities at Kendal-Crosslands.
What’s your next step? Well, it’s quite possibly the most fun step – choosing and customizing your new home! Even better, you’ll get assistance every step of the way from Kendal-Crosslands’ helpful staff!
Before you begin selecting finishes, you’ll choose the home you want and make a deposit on it. Once you’ve picked your desired home in the ideal location, you’ll start customizing it by meeting with your sales counselor and other employees, including the horticulture supervisor and the structural supervisor.
Help Customizing Your Home
First up is the outside of the home. You’ll talk with the horticulture supervisor to discuss the garden – do you want to change the plants? Do you want something more low maintenance? Before you move in, the grounds keeping staff will prune, prepare the mulch bed, and discuss additional options for you. If you have a favorite flower, you can plant it there.
Then, you’ll walk through your new home with the structural supervisor. You’ll discuss interior renovations – adding additional light fixtures, removing a wall, installing built-in bookcases, chair rails, or an additional rod in the closet. As long as it’s structurally sound, the Kendal-Crosslands team is willing to make it happen. You’ll go from room to room discussing paint options. If you’d like to change the color from the standards, you’ll simply pay for the new paint (but not the labor!) and by the time you move in, you’ll be looking at your favorite colors.
Next, you’ll visit the design studio, where you’ll see the different quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, flooring options, and even faucets that you can choose from– at no additional cost! If there are items you’d like to upgrade, Kendal-Crosslands provides transparent pricing on what the additional cost would be.
Did you know that Kendal-Crosslands helps with more than just renovations?
Kendal-Crosslands offers each new resident up to $5,000 reimbursement toward moving-related expenses. What can that money be applied to? You can apply it to any of the moving resources listed in the Kendal-Crosslands Resource Guide that includes individuals and companies that help make the move easier.
Most often, residents choose to use the services of a senior move manager. Senior move managers can help you with everything from helping you decide what furniture will work best in your new space to organizing movers and packing. Many have decorating experience and can assist in choosing linens, bedding, and draperies that complement your new home’s color scheme.
After You Move In
Once you’ve moved into your new home at Kendal-Crosslands, it’s time to add the personal touches that truly create the sense of home.
